As Founder of East Learning, I lead the development of programmes that help schools better understand and improve outcomes beyond grades. My work is shaped by over a decade of experience in education and public sector change, and a focus on ensuring no student is overlooked through earlier, more effective support.

Becky Harding

Director of Delivery

Since 2021, I’ve been working with East to support schools, regions and multi-academy trusts in strengthening student support and collaboration. With over 10 years’ experience in education, both in and out of school settings, I bring a data-informed, practical approach to identifying need, improving support, and ensuring impact is clear and measurable.

Julian Johnson

Chief Technology Officer

I lead the development of our technology and products, including the Aspire platform and the systems that support student data, insight and programme delivery. My work focuses on building tools that enable schools and partners to better understand and respond to student needs at scale, alongside supporting innovation across initiatives such as Open Schools.

Annie Materna

Director of Delivery

Since joining East Learning in 2024, I’ve been leading school delivery, supporting schools to embed the Aspirations programme in a way that works in practice. Having previously worked as a primary teacher, mainly with KS1 pupils, I bring a strong understanding of early development and classroom realities, helping schools turn insight into something meaningful for their students..

Christoffer Redlund

Data and Analytics

I work on improving how we use data from forecasting to making sense of large datasets and translating them into practical insight that schools can act on. With experience across healthcare, social care and technology, my focus is on using data to identify needs earlier, support better decisions and enable more proactive, preventative approaches.

Sophie Hunter-James

Growth Marketing & Comms

I lead growth, marketing and communications at East Learning, making sure what we do is clearly understood and visible across the sector. With a background in strategic marketing for impact-driven organisations, I focus on connecting the right schools, trusts and local authorities with our work helping build awareness, engagement and new partnerships.

Melanie Davies

School Delivery Manager

Since August 2025, I’ve been supporting schools to deliver the Aspirations programme and strengthen student development across wellbeing, careers, PSHE and skills. With over 20 years’ experience as a primary teacher, I bring a practical understanding of school life and what helps pupils to grow and thrive.

Laura Evans

Content Support

I support both the schools and marketing teams by creating student resources that are practical and easy for educators to use in their settings. I also work as a teaching assistant in schools in Wales, which gives me a current understanding of what works in the classroom and helps make sure what we produce is genuinely useful in practice.

With a background in software training, primary school tutoring and account management, I bring a practical, data-informed approach to building strong relationships and supporting schools effectively.
